Dambulla

Sri Lanka - Colombo & Cultural Triangle

Dambulla is most well known for its spectacular Rock Temple complex which is home to five cave temples filled with numerous statues and images of Buddha.

The temples are situated about 100-160 metres up a sloping rock face, hence you will be greeted with stunning views over the surrounding countryside and on a clear day you should be able to see Sigiriya in the distance. There are a couple of high-quality accommodation options in Dambulla including the beautiful Heritance Kandalama or alternatively a visit can be included en route to Sigiriya or as a day trip from Kandy.
