WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL

There are just eight bungalows at the lodge which have been constructed with the natural environment in mind with locally sourced materials. Each bungalow is 800sqft which consists of a private living room which joins onto a spacious bedroom with a king-sized bed. Both rooms feature spectacular floor to ceiling glass windows and doors which open onto a private veranda – the views are truly breath-taking! To top it off all bungalows have large en-suite bathroom with his and her sinks and both indoor and outdoor showers. Activities that can be enjoyed from the lodge include boat safaris – the only national park in Sri Lanka where this is possible, jungle drives, naturalist walks, local village visits or just relaxing by the pool. There is something for everyone! The restaurant is a charming area bursting with local character, tables and chairs have been made by hand by the local village craftsmen using teak and mara woods. The menu is a la carte with a mix of local and international choices. For those looking for something different and to steer away from the masses then Gal Oya is the perfect choice. The accommodation itself is sure to delight and the local hospitality is second to none. A real gem of a property!
