Switzerland - Oasis Highlights

There are so many highlights in this fascinating country that it is impossible to list them all here. Our travel consultants will discuss your interests and be able to put a specific itinerary together for you, but below are a few must seeā€™s!

ZĆ¼rich

Explore Zurich’s charming old town, modern Zurich-West district, and stunning lake. With an array of cultural offerings, including opera, ballet, theatre premieres, shows, musicals, and art exhibitions in over 50 museums and 100 galleries, there’s never a dull moment in Zurich. Shopaholics can indulge in the renowned Bahnhofstrasse and Limmatquai. Foodies will delight in the city’s 1,700 restaurants and bars, serving traditional Zurich and Swiss fare and exotic specialties. And when the sun sets, Zurich’s nightlife offers endless indoor and outdoor options.

Bern

The city boasts a medieval atmosphere with fountains, sandstone facades, narrow streets, and historic towers, making it truly unique. For the best views of the old town, visit the elevated Rose Garden above Bear Park or climb up the 101-meter-high cathedral tower. The River Aare flows around the old town, and the former entrenchments and bastions drop down the river. The old town is home to boutiques, bars, and cabaret stages, some of which are located in vaulted cellars and small street cafes that are popular among locals and tourists alike. While Bern has an excellent public transport network, exploring the city centre on foot is highly recommended.

Chur

On a guided city tour, those interested in history can explore remnants of the past and listen to chilling stories from civil wars and amusing tales from times of peace. Chur remains a bustling commercial hub and serves as the capital of a vast region, boasting a diverse range of shops, museums, theatres, and the PostBus station, the central hub of GraubĆ¼nden’s mountainous region. The world-renowned Rhaetian Railway operates hourly trains to various resorts.

Geneva

Switzerland’s most cosmopolitan city is Geneva, where the United Nations European headquarters and the Red Cross are located. This city, situated on Lake Geneva, is also the birthplace of watchmaking and has many chocolatiers. Among the city’s many attractions are the Jet dā€™Eau fountain, the flower clock Lā€™horloge fleurie, the old town with the St. Pierre Cathedral, and the Place du Bourg-de-Four.
