The highlight for me was the Iguazu falls! Just amazing and the bird park . Great guide there ! Also loved Salta town and area . I really enjoyed BA . My favourite country was Argentina. Really enjoyed Santiago and Valparaiso and all the street art ! Loved Machu Picchu however I think as I had seen a lot of pictures etc I felt I knew what it expect ? Not sure that makes sense ? It was still amazing ….

Where do I start?! All above and beyond expectations. Mashpi a real highlight – equivalent to any safari experience in Africa. Recoleta at Iguazu beautiful, Monasterio in Cuzco outstanding, Tambo del Inka first class, Le Reve delightful.

We loved the Cooking Class in Fes. It was such an authentic experience, cooking a meal in a home with a local family, visiting the community bakery to bake our bread, eating one the best meals we ate in Morocco. A special thank you to Soumaya who was our English interpreter and guide for the cooking class. She was warm, friendly and a beautiful bridge with the family. We also loved our two nights in the Sahara. Waking up to the red dunes, dancing to the music played by the staff in the evening, riding the camels over the dunes (even though it was in a sandstorm), visiting the nomad camps and seeing life in the desert. We really enjoyed the pace and timing of our holiday. We saw all the major cities and sites. Our hope was to be able to capture some of the iconic images of Morocco with our cameras. We certainly did and have some beautiful memories as well as great photographs to keep and share.

What did you enjoy most about your travel experience?

The reassurance that the itinerary had been a collaborative effort and that the experts at Oasis fully understood our requirements – teamwork! The on ground support in India and the ‘reach back ‘ to Oasis were first class. All recommendations by Oasis were ‘spot on’ – Paula was just so wonderful to work with. thank you!

We enjoyed the whole trip. We enjoyed the country side. The food – loved the tagines. We really enjoyed the cooking class. Overall, we had a fabulous time. If we ever went back to Morocco, we’d do it the same way – driver and a guide.

Our driver was excellent. We always felt safe. Sometimes the traffic was insane! Our guide was excellent. Very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and made good recommendations for dinner, etc. He really looked out for us.

Hotels; All but 1 hotel exceeded our expectations (especially Hotel Lago Grey). Isamar on Isabella Island in Galapagos met our expectations, trouble was we were so spoilt with the other ones!

Guides; all great, special mention to Diego our guide for the Quito walking food tour was great, as was Jessica as our birding guide at Bellavista cloud forest

Highlights;  Seeing amazing nature and landscapes

TRAVELLED INDIA & BHUTAN

(VIC 2026)

In India we had one driver, Yogi, for the duration of our stay for the whole week, with different guides in each place, as you had suggested. Yogi was a lovely, good-natured guy and went beyond in taking us to places not on the itinerary. In Bhutan, we had the same driver and guide travelling with us for the entire week which was good. The guide’s name was Sonam and the driver Yangka. They were both excellent and such good-natured guys. Sonam was a wealth of information. They were both very attentive and flexible to our needs.

Bhutan is a very unique country not tainted by masses of tourists – it was a privilege to be able to travel there.

Everything was very well organised and the guides used were very knowledgeable.

On the whole we enjoyed all our time in Costa Rica. Saying that the highlights were probably the wildlife walks, the visit to the thermal springs in La Fortuna and the zip lining in Monteverde!

The guides were all helpful and well informed. Our driver Yogesh was brilliant. He had superb driving skills. He also had brilliant knowledge of everywhere we went. We learnt a lot about India on the long drives from Delhi to Agra and then Agra to Jaipur. We would definitely recommend him to anyone travelling in India.

I enjoyed travelling with a small group of friends. Having local guides and a great driver ensured our short trip was safe and enjoyable.

I would highly recommend Ed from Oasis Travel to organise your South America itinerary. Ed is very knowledgeable about the region and put together a wonderful three-week itinerary covering Chile and Peru, including the Amazon and a one-day hike to Machu Picchu. The Inkaterra hotels were incredibly welcoming and truly lovely, well worth the extra cost to stay there. All our guides were very knowledgeable and we felt safe with all our transfer drivers.

The diverseness of the countries / areas we visited the people watching in Rio, the beautiful scenery, great walks, food was amazing. The ease of getting off planes and knowing we were having someone there to greet us (us not speaking Spanish). It was an amazing trip that I haven’t stopped talking about. Ed Miles was our agent he got to know us via phone and what we wanted out of the trip what we preferred to do at each destitnation what we didn’t want to do and then he suggested many different options and it was never an issue to change anything, he was easygoing, easy to contact and easy to talk too he was extremely knowledgeable. All the day trips that was organised from here by Ed were also perfect. He was friendly, efficient and pretty much everything went smoothly and perfectly care of Ed – cannot speak highly enough of him and his arrangements. THANK YOU (we also meet another couple that had booked through Ed and were equally as happy)

Thank you, our trip was amazing! The weather on the one-day hike to Machu Picchu was incredible! Very lucky sunshine and rainbows when we finally reached the top! Just an amazing experience and yes the highlight, though Patagonia & AWASI was hard to beat, our guide was exceptional and hiking and trekking puma was fabulous as well. Also, piranha fishing in the Amazon was a great experience! The Uyuni jeep crossing was great, very long drive ( all ok as we are used to driving long hours in Aus ) through the desert tracks, fab landscapes etc. The Altitude sickness hit me a little in San Pedro ( headaches) and then hit Tim in Uyuni, our symptoms were bad headaches and Tim’s breathing a bit laboured, though panadol / nurofen/ cocoa tea and being slow and resting worked at relieving symptoms, by the time we were in La Paz we were fine and so I feel this set up us for a fabulous day trek to Machu Picchu !

Every detail perfectly worked, thanks to you and your team, all on ground people were amazing and made our trip an absolute breeze!

All Accommodation was perfect , the only one Casa Bueras in Santiago, needs a bit of loving, our room & bath room needed a good clean, the area was lively and fun, we preferred the Singular on our last night, a great upstairs pool, restaurant area with fabulous views !

Thank you for all your expert knowledge and planning of our trip, it all was fabulous because of all your organising!

Drivers and guides were most helpful, especially as we are both in our 80s. They helped with stairs, getting in and out of transport and luggage. Drivers were always on time. In particular the driver we had for 8 days, very helpful and pleasant.

We both love India. As soon as we arrive, love the hustle and bustle, the color and the energy. People so friendly and welcoming. Love the history, palaces, forts, markets. Marvel at the traffic including cows, donkeys, camels, elephants, goats. It was my last trip to India a celebration of the things I love for my 80th birthday.

TRAVELLED SOUTH AMERICA

Mark and I returned from our epic holiday 2 weeks ago and I really wanted to give you some feedback. Basically – it was truly amazing! The itinerary that you created for us took us to places that we would not have thought to go to. It was fun to explore Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. We loved the hike to the Tijuca NP in Rio, the food walking tour in Buenos Aires, but the guided walks in both cities were great too and very informative and enjoyable. In Buenos Aires we added a Tango and dinner evening and we really enjoyed that. The Iguazú Falls were incredible to see and well worth visiting although very busy and touristy (and it was the low season). We would never have thought to spend time in Quito but so glad we did. Although we were troubled by the altitude, it is a beautiful city and well worth spending some time there.

The Argentinian Lake District was stunning. We didn’t like Bariloche, too touristy but fell in love with San Martin de los Andes. While we were there we went on an all day boat tour on lake Lacar. The car hire went ok although Mark had to learn to use his right hand to change gears and the rules when approaching a junction were interesting!

The Anakonda river cruise was incredible. The boat, the crew, the guides, the food, the day tours, all incredible. The staff couldn’t try any harder in looking after us. We were very lucky as although the boat takes 30 guests there were only 8 of us so we were very spoilt. The Glamping trip was interesting, only Mark and I (and 5 members of staff). They worked so hard to give us a memorable experience. Unfortunately it rained all night and the tent leaked, my mattress was wet and the toilet and our tent were partially collapsed, but all part of the experience!

All our flights were on time and went without any hitches. The hotels that you chose were great. I loved them all, they were all very different in their own way.

So thank you Ed for an amazing holiday. We’ve never done anything like this before (and we’ve been together 40 years), it was definitely a holiday of a life time and although it cost nearly a year’s salary (I work part time as a nurse) it was worth every dollar.

Thanks for organising a tremendous trip for us.  The wildlife of Galapagos was stunning. We saw Machu Picchu on a cloudy misty day which added to the mystique of the place for us. The Tambopata Research Centre was  a contrast but much more comfortable than we anticipated. The Oasis app with records of flights and accomodations was incredibly useful at customs and immigrations several times. It clearly demonstrated our pathway and made transit much easier. In the Galapagos, the full length wetsuit was terrific for the extra warmth and buoyancy. The food tour in Cusco was excellent. Even at the end of our trip, we learned more about food and ate street food safely.

We had a wonderful trip. The vehicle hire went very smoothly, easy to pick up and drop off.  We had no problems finding our daily destinations. Our transfer between Mendoza to Santiago went very smoothly with a friendly safe driver. Our only beef was the long distances we had to cover, as you had forewarned. The Oasis portion of the trip was near the end of our trip and we had underestimated the amount of time we would have to spend in vehicles in the earlier (non-Oasis) parts of the trip. So by the time we picked up the vehicle in Salta, we were already road-trip-weary.

Nonetheless the journey between Salta and Mendoza gave us a wonderful experience of the landscapes in this part of Argentina. Thanks for your help to plan this amazing part of our journey.

Everything was just fantastic! We loved Atacama and Tierra surpassed any expectations we may have had. Such a diverse, colourful, changing landscape. We were definitely acclimatised for Salkantay, had no adverse effects from the altitude at all, and we managed the trek pretty well. it was tough but we did it! No chance of losing weight as the food was plentiful and delicious! The rain held off for Machu Pichu, it was a cloudless day and we lapped it all up, it truly is a wondrous sight.Every hotel was perfect, we have no complaints at all.

Thank you Ed, once again, you organised a truly memorable holiday and our love of South America continues to grow.

We loved our trip and really was down to your depth of knowledge, planning …thank you !!  The hotels were awesome. Moska was a standout so I thought worth mentioning as you said it was new ?

We want to go back to the east coast so give us a year or 18 months and we will be in touch.

We enjoyed the variety of things we did and saw. Slow start, pace in the middle and relaxing end, as well as the people and food.

TRAVELLED SPAIN & MOROCCO

Overall we had a great trip, but in hindsight we could have shortened some destinations and actually fit in some time in Portugal.  The App was brilliant and we used it throughout the trip.  Rod (Oasis Travel) was great, and we really appreciate his help in scoping out the trip, and being so responsive throughout.

In Morocco – Too many Riads – we should have mixed in a few more “standard style” hotels. Our Driver was outstanding.

Overall we enjoyed Spain and the hotels were good – all well located and a good mix of modern and more traditional.  The one in Seville was cute and well located (and had a back-up generator so we had no issues while the power was out across Spain).

We had a flat tire along the way and our guide quickly organised additional transport, he was friendly, communicated by Whatsapp, adjusted the schedule to include last minute changes we wanted or added in stops he knew we would like. The tea plantation hike was totally spectacular. It wasn’t something we ever thought we needed to do and we are so glad we did. Sigiriya rock speaks for itself…WOW!

Our recent trip to Malaysia went off very well. The place was very welcoming and we had very good guides and drivers etc.

Our only regret -we should have spent 3 nights in Taman Nagara and at least two nights in Fraser Hills. Service delivery was excellent and we felt very safe throughout, great country to visit and a very welcoming People.

Thanks for all your help and organising

TRAVELLED JAPAN

Debra
(WA 2025)

We had an amazing time. Thanks so much for organising it for us. The weather was very cold most of the time & even snowed a few times but we managed OK. The only time the cold was very unpleasant was at the ceremony early in the morning in Nagano. We think you should suggest that people should take a blanket with them or ask the hotel to provide one.

Finding the hotel in Osaka was a challenge – suggest telling people to exit the train station using the correct exit (can’t remember which one it was), cross the road & go to the 19th floor of the Marriot building.

The sake tasting involved two glasses put in front of us with no explanation. The cooking class after this though was excellent.

The WiFi box was invaluable as was the app. Also, forwarding the luggage onto the next hotel made everything so much easier.

Thanks again for your great organising. We LOVED Japan – as you said to me, you can’t get anything more opposite than India!

TRAVELLED JAVA

P & A
(VIC 2025)

We had a truly wonderful trip that went very smoothly and was super interesting.  There seems to be a policy in Java of including visits to a local village and those proved interesting to us and gave greater insight on the lives of people in the rural areas.  (We saw a rice-growing village and a dry-land cassava growing village.)  Without these inclusions the luxury accommodation may have left us feeling cut off from reality!   That said, all accommodation was interesting and great. I particularly liked everything about the Majapahit in Surabaya.

Rod (Oasis Travel) was very helpful before the trip. The guide, Otman was very knowledgeable about the history of Morocco and the country generally and was able to give us a lot of background material and interesting commentary throughout the trip. The drive Moky, was a very careful and safe driver who we had full confidence in. There were no hidden costs or charges. We were also able to adjust a few things with the guide which we wanted to do. The whole package was excellent

I just wanted to particularly thank you for arranging the most magnificent trip for us.

As you’ll see, we had an incredible experience in Sri Lanka and couldn’t be happier with what you organised.  Everything went beautifully and I’m so grateful for the way in which you were so receptive to what I’d mentioned were our priorities.  The kids and I did some amazing climbs and we all especially loved the time at the Mud House and the experiences offered by Wild Glamping.  Having a guided walk with a Vedda man was a memorable and unique experience.  As I wrote in the survey,  our driver/guide was excellent and really contributed to the success of the holiday.

I’ve been sharing my itinerary with several friends and recommending your services highly.  We’d definitely like to engage you again to assist with holidays.

TRAVELLED SEYCHELLES

Katherine (NSW 2025)

The Six Senses staff were excellent. Very friendly and seemingly in abundance. Helpful with just the right vibe of friendly, not overpowering and chilled energy. Dining was top quality. Options were in-villa or in restaurant. Broader menu in the restaurant but the in-villa setting was superb in a setting like that! The food was excellent quality. Healthy, fresh, with a couple of naughty options if you wanted.

Drinks and food were naturally expensive – both from an exchange perspective and where we were. Expected and is what it is. Wine options were mostly available; the local beer and rum was the pride. Champagne limited and expensive but that’s not surprising. Couldn’t fault any of it.

TRAVELLED TO COSTA RICA, GUATEMALA & BELIZE

Di & Doug
(QLD 2025)

Costa Rica has embraced tourism. We were amazed that wildlife and humans occupy the same space – it seems without problems. Fantastic birds and wildlife. It rained a lot, but we just got on with the itinerary. The accommodation was superb and spacious. Guatemala was quite a contrast, almost going back in time. There is significant social change happening, but it is wonderful to see people continuing to embrace their traditions. Guides were keen to share the Mayan history. Given what followed later in the trip, we felt the visit to the Iximche was unnecessary. Antigua was extraordinary and a great contrast on the trip. Posada del Angel took our breath away! Yaxha & Topoxte sunset tour was enjoyable and Tikal was spectacular. Blancaneaux was a highlight – what a beautiful property with amazing activities – loved it. Travelling to our final destination was interesting. Dangriga showed us more of the ‘real’ life of Belize. Arriving at Pelican Beach resort was a total contrast to the luxury of Blancaneaux. It reminded us of Australian beach resorts of 50 years ago. Arriving at the Coral Caye was similarly a trip back in time, like Great Barrier Reef islands or yesteryear. We embraced the simplicity and were very happy after a snorkel! Just one more thing, we felt relaxed and safe at all times. A result of your organisation and the partners you chose.

TRAVELLED TO INDIA

(SA 2024)

The Postcard at Sasan Gir was outstanding; the Radisson Blu at Dharamshala was very good but we would expect that from that chain of hotels; the Judges Court at Pragpur was surprisingly good – excellent service and different enough to be interesting – also the walk through the village that we did with the driver was really good; all the other hotels were good.

The guides were very good- the guide at Ahmedabad was a walking encyclopedia and those at Dharamshala and Shimla were very good – we are constantly reminded of the value of guides – we learn so much from them.

Sasan Gir was a highlight and we did see lions, including a pride with 2 cubs – the Gujaratis are very proud of the work they have done to increase the numbers of these lions.

TRAVELLED TO MEXICO & COLOMBIA

Wendy & friends
(NSW 2024)

Thank you so much for MALTMAC ( middle aged ladies tour of Mexico and Colombia). We arrived home yesterday from our amazing holiday to Mexico and Colombia We loved every minute! What we saw, where we stayed, what we ate, and our amazing guides and drivers who took such fabulous care of us. This was my 6th holiday with Oasis, 5 of those were in Central and South America and all of these were organised by you Ed. Every holiday has our thank you Ed moments and this one was no different from the Hotel Zocalo in Mexico City to Akawanka Lodge in San Agustin, Colombia, what a great name and a very special place!

We loved the hustle and bustle of Mexico City, but not so much the traffic! The buzz of Oaxaca and the exciting build up to our day of the dead celebration. For me the highlight was the cemetery visit and the interaction we had with a family graveside, so moving but not sad, it was a true celebration of life!

We absorbed and appreciated the slower pace of Colombia, what an incredible country, such diversity of landscapes and a rich culture and people that were genuinely happy to see tourists! We were made very welcome and now understand how hard it has been for Colombia to emerge from its bad reputation. Not once on our travels did we feel threatened or unwelcome. If four older ladies can appreciate the beauty and hospitality of these amazing countries I’m sure everyone can, with the help of Oasis Travel

So thank you again for another memorable holiday, we are so grateful for every unique experience.

TRAVELLED TO ARGENTINA & CHILE

Kate & Michael
(NSW 2024)

Was just going through photo’s last night, reliving what was probably the best trip ever! Everything thing went so well, our BA guide, Victoria was so passionate and knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around!
The restaurant tour was delicious and very glad it was just us. We tried to book one of the restaurants at a later date and could not get in, so it was top notch. Iguazu was impressive, the Gran Melia is a 5 star resort and a lovely place to be based for a few days ( I had it in my head it was location, location and not much of a hotel so it was a pleasant surprise ). Explora, how good are they? Food, guides, locations, hikes, again, glad it was early season as we heard the hikes can get so congested. We can’t choose between them, they were different but we were spoiled in every sense. Our last minute pick up and luggage drop in Punta Arenas was a god send, not sure what we would have done if that had not pulled together. Whatssapp worked well eveywhere we went and it was a comfort to be in constant contact while over there. And the winery, I was almost ready to come home once we hit Santiago, but once we got to Matetic, I was so glad to be there, it was the perfect wind down. All hotels were exceptional, Esplendor was a bit tired, but the staff were very heplful and it was a good location. Our only regret was our lack of Spanish, but we had a lot of fun working it out. We cannot thank you enough and will certainly recommend to our friends, should they ask.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for organising our amazing Sri Lankan family holiday.

Our guide Nisha made for an amazingly rich cultural experience that we would not have received travelling on our own or with a larger group. We are heading home today with wonderful memories of spotting a wild leopard, washing an elephant in a river and the most amazing cuisine.

TRAVELLED TO PERU

Kim & Tahnia
(BNE 2024)

Thanks again for arranging such a fabulous holiday.  We had some much fun, that Tahn and I have decided a girls holiday will now be an annual thing, we just have to let our husbands know! Haha.

As discussed some feedback is below-

The culinary tour which we had in Cusco was amazing due to Chef Christina. It was one of the highlights of our trip, she spoke fantastic English and was so interesting to speak to, giving us the history behind each of the food dishes and the country. We highly recommend this tour!

Our trekking Guide to Machu Pichu (Rosalio) was fantastic. He was so friendly, helpful and funny and again provided great information about the history of the site. It was a really hard trek due to the hot weather and altitude, but Rosario made it so enjoyable. He was also a really good videographer too, snapping some great photos and videos for us!

Tambopata Research was great, our guide, Juan Carlos was a delight and it was so good how you had the same guide each day while we were there. We were very lucky and saw all the animals we had hoped to see including Jaguars, sloths and lots of monkeys.

The tour guide who picked us up form the airport in Lima and dropped us back to the airport was very friendly and helpful also but I can’t remember his name, and the lady who took us on the half day tour around Lima was fabulous as well.

We probably could have done without Day 11 (the walking tour of central Cusco and half day tour of Cuscos surrounds) as we had seen plenty of historical sites by this point in time.  Staying one night in Ollantaytambo might have been nice too.

As discussed the e-bike tour didn’t end up being as described, the guide just took us to hill above archaeological ruins of Moray to look down on it and didn’t take us to the salt Mines of Maras at all.  We advised your partners of this though and they arranged for our tour guide the next day to take us to the Salts Mines which made up for it.

It was one of the best holidays I have ever been on, everything was so well organised, it took all of the stress out of planning a holiday, so we could just enjoy ourselves. We adventured each day, drank pisco sours and laughed our heads off as we travelled around Peru and Chile. The tour guides were all fantastic, they were always waiting for us when we arrived at the airport and went the extra mile, and when taking us back to the airport, they got our bags tags, checked our bags in for us and walked us straight to the departure gate, making everything so easy.  They also gave us tips on restaurants and local knowledge and history of each location.

TRAVELLED TO COSTA RICA

Michael & Sally
(NSW 2024)

Just to let you know that the Costa Rica trip was a great success. All the transfers were very reliable and professional, with good drivers and informative guides. Likewise, the wildlife and nature hikes were led by very pleasant and accomplished guides. We saw a wonderful selection of wildlife. For us, the highlight was Tortuguero, and it was definitely worth paying a bit more for the Tortuga Lodge. We were also very happy with the Selva Verde Lodge at Sarapiqui and the Cariblue Beach and Jungle resort.  The Hotel Grano de Oro in San Jose was gorgeous (originally a private house) with excellent dining. Overall, there were relatively few overseas travellers at this time and we thought Costa Rica impressive for a number of well documented reasons including their social, environmental and political structure. We would certainly consider re-visiting. Many thanks, Ed, for your excellent organisation which was a major contributor to our enjoyment of the country.

Just a quick message to say that the trip we just got back from was faultless. From Latam airlines to the accommodation was just exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed all the trips especially Galapagos time, plus Quito, and Cusco which we thought may have been the least favourites was a highlight. All the guides, you could not fault, on time, every step of the way that were very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with.
Thanks again

TRAVELLED TO VIETNAM

Andrew & Julie-Ann
(NSW 2024)

From the very beginning of booking with Oasis Travel the process was seamless. The app was a great and referred to frequently.
In the north we were with Kien (our guide) Tuan (our driver) and they couldn’t have done anything more. Kien went over and above, he was extremely knowledgeable and the great gift of understanding his audience. It was great getting off the beaten track and wandering through the villages. One of the highlights was the overnight train trip from Lao Cai to Hanoi.

Heading south we met Hung in Da Nang. Totally different guide and perfect for the Hoi An. We had a great day out cycling through rice fields that included eating the rice noddles we made for lunch.

The Sampan on the Mekong Delta was an amazing 24 hours and would recommend it over and above Halong Bay which is beautiful but everywhere you turn there’s another tourist boat. Ngoc Tran from Victoria Cruises is worth a special mention, along with the rest of the crew that looked after us. We would have brought her home if we could.

The only disappointment was Topas Eco Lodge. Location and accommodation were beautiful, the food left a lot to be desired. It has much more of a big hotel feel and the staff are lovely but felt void of personality or ability to make any decisions on their own.

This is the first time (except for Africa 2008) that I’ve booked an organized trip through an agent. It was a great way to get the most out of a new destination.

TRAVELLED TO BORNEO

Rod & Robyn
(SA 2024)

The trip went very well, organization was faultless.  Our guide and driver in KL were both great and we enjoyed our time there. We especially liked the food tour of the markets and stalls.

All went well at Sepilok. Our view of the Proboscis monkeys was in the pouring rain , but the monkeys didn’t seem to mind and we were under cover. Sun Bear and Orangutans all easy to access.

Sukau Lodge lived up to our expectations.  The welcoming arrangements and briefing of activities were thorough and informative. The lodge was very well organized and the staff in the lodge were very obliging and happy to go out of their way to make the stay special. We were lucky enough to see the elephants feeding at the edge of the river,  as well as many birds and monkeys. The night boat trips were also a lot of fun.

Danum Valley is an amazing place and we are very glad we made the effort to get there. It has been on our “list ” for a while. We saw some wonderful wildlife and birds – orangutan, the argus ( Borneo peacock), civets and deer on a night drive, and many very cheeky macaques.

Thank you for all your organisation and patience in answering all our questions. . We were very happy with the way the trip was planned and would not hesitate to recommend Oasis travel and yourself to others. We have some comments about BRL FYI but do not see this as a reflection on your organisation in any way.

Omg! What a brilliant trip. So well organised. Driving in Argentina very entertaining! The only think we would do differently would be an extra day in Calafate and one day less in el Chalten. Top hotel was Peninsular Petit. Just like staying in a postcard. Wonderful breakfast and their evening meals lovely. Private beach lake to swim gorgeous Great service there. Tours great especially the walking food tour in Buenos Aries. A great sample of the huge variety of terrain in Argentina. Iguazu amazing. A must to see both sides and go on the jet boat under the falls.

Thanks for your great organising. So nice to be collected at airports. What a fabulous country.

(TAS 2024)

We had a great time. The Antarctic was everything I had hoped and the ship, the Greg Mortimer, was terrific. We crossed the Antarctic Circle at midnight on New Year’s Eve which was quite special. Patagonia was wonderful…….I’ve finally found somewhere that is windier than Tasmania????. Actually we did have quite good weather although had to postpone the Grey Lake boat trip until the next day as it was cancelled due to wind. But that didn’t matter at all.

Driving was very easy and Chris did a great job. He managed to miss most of the potholes and we had no probs with the car. It wasn’t a 4×4 but a Cherry SUV. Didn’t matter much except I guess we could have gone faster in the other one and it would have been more robust. The bus ride was interesting from El Calafate and wasn’t onerous at all.

Highlight for Patagonia was the horse ride we did at Hotel Las Torres and the Perito Moreno tour. They were fabulous. Also loved the food tour and Tango show in BA. All transfers were perfect and all the tour people were excellent. It was a great trip and we had a wonderful time.

The entire experience was nothing short of extraordinary. We are very grateful for your meticulous planning and thoughtful consideration that went into every aspect of our trip. The days were planned extremely well, the guides were great, vehicles very comfortable and air conditioned (much appreciated in 35-38 degrees!). Every activity from the city tours to the cooking classes was enjoyable despite the very hot and humid weather which was quite unusual for mid April.

I’m very grateful that you suggested that we visit Vietnam – beautiful country and lovely people.

Thank you very much once again for your work and knowledge, I would not hesitate to recommend Oasis to all my friends.

All the best and I’ll be in touch to organize our next holiday one day (hopefully sooner rather than later 🙂

Thank you for organising the trip – it was great.

(NSW 2024)

Our Argentina trip went very well, with no hiccups in any aspect of the organisation. We were particularly impressed with the internal air flights, airport pickups, drivers being on time, and the excellent tours: a half-day tour of Buenos Aires, the full day wine tour in Mendoza, and Iguazú Falls. The standard of guides was excellent, with a particular shout-out to Beatrix at Iguazú: one of the best guides we have ever had. The weather throughout the two weeks was sunny and hot – so we felt very lucky.

We’d have to say that the hotel change in Mendoza worked out the best for us, as it was a bit more up-market, in a central location, and had good facilities and breakfast. Selva Lodge at Iguazú was also very good, if a little out of town when looking for restaurants or other activities.

Overall, Ed, we really enjoyed our first taste of Argentina, and are particularly appreciative of your efforts on our behalf, your excellent organisation, and your up-to-date communication with us as things changed. We would use Oasis Travel again to see central Argentina and Patagonia, and also other countries in South America.

TRAVELLED TO SOUTH AMERICA

Rachel & Edward
(SA 2024)

Thank you, we are now in Italy enjoying our more relaxed time here after our very busy (but great) schedule in South America.

Firstly, everything went smoothly, we had no issues with transfers not turning up or hotels not expecting us, everything went per the plan and there were no avoidable hiccups thank you. It was stress free and well organised.

In terms of highlights and lowlights, for us the best parts were in Patagonia & Argentina. We loved Torres del Paine and were lucky enough to have a perfect day hiking Las Torres and because you had booked us into the perfect spot – Hotel Las Torres – it meant we had an early start to our walk and therefore did not encounter large groups of people, we were well on our way down as the day trippers were heading up. I also enjoyed that you booked us on the other side of the park (beautiful drive) for a couple of nights but the hotel there (Hotel del Paine) was a little bit rough around the edges – our window pane was cracked edge to edge and the facilities were very basic – but the food was great (as it was at Las Torres).

We also loved Bariloche – the hotel there was our favourite – (Hotel Peninsula Petit) – so perfect on the lake and the food there and hosts were fantastic.

Having our own car in these two regions also worked really well, the driving was easy and it gave us the sort of freedom we like when travelling.

The biggest (happy) surprise for me was the Perito Moreno glacier. I had never seen a glacier before and our trip there was fantastic. The hotel in El Calafate was ok but it was 4kms out of town with nothing else around, so a location in El Calafate would have been better.

Buenos Aires was terrific, we loved the Palermo neighborhood where we had a great night out, and the hotel was very nice in Recoleta.

The lowlight of the trip for us was Bogota and our trip to Villa de Leyva. The tour of Bogata was fine – the gold museum was very interesting as I am interested in Indigenous cultures/history and the cable car to Monserrate was fine – great view – and our hotel was very nice. However, on the whole Bogata as a city did not excite us. Whilst Villa de Leyva itself was a very lovely perfectly preserved town – it was like we had stepped into southern Spain rather than Colombia. In hindsight I think maybe for us the coffee region or Medellin would have suited us better. However Cartagena was awesome – full of Carribean colour and music and we took a day trip to the Rosario Islands which was relaxing and it was nice to cool off at the beach. Again the hotel here was lovely – although the rooms all connected to each other via internal vent – so not very soundproof!

Costa Rica was good, Arenal was really nice, the day tour with the 3 activities was excellent – my favourite tour of the trip. The hotel was also excellent, we spent a day by the pool there which we never do, but we needed a day off and the surroundings were so nice. Tortaguera was a surprise – we had no idea it was so remote and we were shocked at the light plane airstrip to get out – but it was an adventure! It was 1 day too long, 3 days 2 nights would have been plenty, as you are very confined to the resort or the town. The canal wildlife trip was great and we saw lots of wildlife (including sloths and of course lots of monkeys) just around the hotel. Manuel Antonio was great – nice to see the Pacific side and the beaches were good, apart from the tour of the park we mainly spent our time at the beach. The biggest surprise here was how long it took to get there and back from San Jose, it was 5 hours both ways, despite being less than 200kms.

The only other place I didn’t mention was Santiago. The wine tour was terrific, both wineries were very enjoyable. The full day tour of Santiago was not that great. The guide did his best, but there are just not enough things to see in Santiago to fill in a full day, a half day tour would have been much better. The hotel location was perfect, nice restaurants etc in walking distance, but basic.

Therefore we had a lovely time. You did a great job with the hotels/tours in general, I appreciate we had a budget therefore you were balancing out where to spend more/less and I think you got it right most of the time as the locations were all spot on except for El Calafate.

Thanks for your help planning a wonderful trip

There is only one word to describe our trip…..WOW! Every day it was a new version of WOW. It seems such a small word to describe the magnitude of the experiences we have had. From the accommodation and tours to the sense of safety and security knowing that it was all going to work well….. and it did! What a beautiful part of the world. Thank you so very much for all your organisational skills.

Thank you for putting together a fantastic itinerary. It went perfectly without any problems. I must admit I was a bit hesitant as it was last minute, we seemed to book with haste, and we hadn’t used travel agents before, but it went better than ever expected. Kahmal, the driver, picked us up from Casablanca as planned, and it was smooth sailing from then on.

The driver was fantastic. Kahmal had water for us at each stop; he took care of us and looked after us as if we were his personal guests. I would recommend Kamal as the driver for all from that company. The day tour to Meknes and wine tasting in Chateau Roslane was fantastic and we were so glad it could be arranged. We didn’t realise it was Islamic new Year’s Day so there were not many people but the guide at the Chateau still took us through cellar storage and production. Our time ended in Marrakesh, our driver was still attentive until we got to the airport and I think we were all a bit sad the trip had come to an end.

The wifi in the car was incredible and allowed up to look up places we were travelling past, monuments we had seen with the guides, and more history of the location. We had booked a riad called Tarabel ourselves and it was beautiful. The staff were incredible. It might be more expensive than others but it was a great location and service to end the trip if others enquire about it. Apparently it has not been affected in the recent earthquake and is intact. We knew it would be hot and without the driver and the arranged yours, we would not have achieved to see and travel as much. The itinerary was perfect for us and to make it work last minute was fantastic

We have just returned and a big thanks for our wonderful holiday. We had a totally stress free holiday with soooo many adventures that we loved. I particularly loved the Mekong Delta, the Hanoi streets and the foodie tour in Hoi An with a guy named Phuc was so authentic as he was born in one of the laneways we visited. All the guides were fantastic. The hotels were amazing. The only one I would change was the one in Bangkok- we loved the hotel but would have perhaps liked to be closer to China town. We are already thinking about another trip and I have referred you to a couple of friends. The anxiety was definitely taken out of the holiday. I’m thinking Borneo next as I’ve always wanted to see the orangutans.

So what can I say everything that you organised for us was fantastic all the tours and transport your secured for us was great everything ran smoothly. The tour guides and tour in Rio, Iguazu and Buenos Aires were first class and very informative as was Panama. If I was to complain about anything it was the tour guide we had in Panama showed up with the flu or Covid that we didn’t want so I pulled him aside early on and asked if he thought it was appropriate for him to continue the tour as he was obviously crook and he told me it was fine he would wear a mask. We also had the lovely lady that met us at the airport at Buenos Aires send a message next morning to say she was not feeling well so substituted her friend to do the tour and she was great and was very appreciated by us. Also the people that oversaw our time in Argentina were fantastic they contacted me on arrival and answered a few questions I had very responsive. Our Brangus Congress was also great it but was full on 5am starts midnight finish most days. So we appreciated our rest time in Jamaica. The accommodation and locations you selected were perfect. We feel we got a good feel for all the places we visited. So thank you we are glad we found you. We are planning to attend the congress again in two years in Brazil. So you won’t get rid of us just yet. Thanks so much again

(2023)

SO THE TRIP ! amazing , loved Chilé, the landscape , the people , the food , the wine , everything! We were incredibly lucky with the weather , hardly any rain and most days were cool at first and then sunny -perfect days .Driving was fine , the Carretera Austral got down to single track dirt road and once I decided to pull over for all approaching traffic ( particularly at night ) it was no problem. The Patagonia roads were fine although Bariloche traffic over Easter was crazy ! We loved the peace and wildness of the lake General carrera area , and hotel terra Luna was a great sanctuary after all the travelling we’d done .the area was definitely a highlight. So other highlights – Lago todos los santos boat trip ( with the Chilean tourists over Easter Friday ) , in fact all the boat trips with the locals were great ( I like people watching and the lakes and mountains were stunning – yes perfect time of year with the autumn colours ) .

Loved San Martin , great boutique hotel and found the first large / old Aracarias in Lanin national park . Loved all the volcanoes wereever we went . Discovered pisco sours ! Hotel Nothofagus is ridiculous and personally too touristy and gimmicky ( western fairies ripping off the local myths ) but kitchen staff very helpful as our stomachs were in trouble at that point ( our own mishandling of picnic food ) . I’m not also sure I like the Huilo Huilo model – too tourist focused and gimmicky .( I’m influenced by working in the field ) . Biggest highlight I think was conguillo NP , volcanic , wild and the Aracaria were wonderful , I think you suggested staying 3 days – you were right ! I wish we’d seen more monkey puzzle environments- next time ! And the Atacama – certainly a contrast .

We were very glad not to be there in high season , as San Pedro is definitely a tourist town . The sites all seemed busy but this didn’t spoil the experience. All guides were very good, and we signed up for an extra trip to the rainbow valley and some nearby petroglyphs which was perhaps our favourite trip . All were good and it is an extraordinary place . Thanks again for all your help ,

Hi Ed first email to answer some of your questions. Hard to pick one highlight but for both of us the cruise really stood out – as being absolutely spectacular along with sensational food and excellent service. Close behind was the lake crossing from puerto varas to bariloche, camp patagonia and the estancia / asado at calafate. The weather was superb, a great time of the year to go and we were rewarded with snow at Cape horn and ushuaia. Patagonia is not only magnificent but also very diverse! Some photos to follow and more details over the coming days! Thanks again

TRAVELLED TO BORNEO

(2023)

Overall, the holiday was sensational. Our favourites were Selingan Island and the Kinabatangan River.

Kota Kinabalu was pretty uninspiring and if I were doing it again, I would have gone straight to Gaya Island and had the extra night there, although the KK sunset was pretty incredible! The snorkelling from Gaya was fabulous. An excellent day. In Sepilok, because we arrived so early after Air Asia mucked our flights up, we accidentally discovered the proboscis monkey sanctuary, which turned out to be a great experience.

We felt doubling back on Sepilok and repeating the orang-utans was not the best use of time, especially as we saw them in the wild, but I’m not sure how you’d tweak that part.

Danum Valley accommodation was amazing but it’s not a great drive to get there and the wildlife was disappointing compared with the river experience. The one exception was the appearance of a flange male actually in the lodge. I had stayed behind from the burial site trek and was very glad I did!

Borneo is a fantastic place for any nature-lover and we are still raving about the trip. We saw a lot and we were escorted from place to place without incident, which is pretty remarkable given the distances we travelled.

Thank you for helping us make our dream holiday a reality.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you. This years holiday has been 4 to 5 years in the making, it was to be a 5 year celebration and reunion of our 2015 trip. Unfortunately Covid delayed it by 2 years! But we were there, we achieved it and basked in the perfection of it all. Thanks heaps. The Beluga was yet another thank you moment. The fact that we were in the Galápagos Islands was surreal but to be experiencing it as a guest on board the Beluga was sheer magic. The crew were fabulous the meals were fabulous and the islands were unique and very special. It was so hard to say which accommodation was our favourite until we arrived at Hacienda San Agustin de Callo circa 1440. This was the most amazing accommodation any of us have ever experienced, we would have happily stayed forever. No exaggeration! We had our very own 3 bedroom cottage with open fireplaces in all rooms, we got to eat amazing meals in the Inca dining room and snuggle up in the lounge with Lady, the well loved Labrador. We revelled in our Llama welcome along with the other guests while feeling that to our host Gabriel we were the only guests! Such an amazing manager.

So thank you Ed and thank you Nick for all your efforts in organising what was another unforgettable and once in a lifetime trip!

Thanks heaps

Let’s start with our accommodation, Villa Barranco in Lima, stunning, beautiful restored 1920’s home lovingly restored to a 9 bedroom hotel only 5 years ago and our hosts Julio and Frank were so helpful and very charming. Gocta Lodge, what a location, stunning vista of the falls, manicured grounds complete with resident llamas and hummingbirds, I don’t think there would be a person anywhere that could not help but feel totally relaxed here. Hotel Kentitambo in Leymebamba, words can’t describe the essence of this hotel. Picture perfect grounds with an abundance of flowers and even more hummingbirds! The meals were amazing, we quickly realised that we wouldn’t be losing any weight on this trip.

The Beluga was yet another thank you moment. The fact that we were in the Galápagos Islands was surreal but to be experiencing it as a guest on board the Beluga was sheer magic. The crew were fabulous the meals were fabulous and the islands were unique and very special.

It was so hard to say which accommodation was our favourite until we arrived at Hacienda San Agustin de Callo circa 1440 This was the most amazing accommodation any of us have ever experienced, we would have happily stayed forever. We revelled in our Llama welcome along with the other guests while feeling that to our host Gabriel we were the only guests! Such an amazing manager.

Of course a holiday such as ours could never happen without our guides. They were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble to them and our comfort and safety was always considered.  Some we only had for half a day, Jenny in Lima but her knowledge and enthusiasm was inspiring, if we hadn’t already loved Lima we would after spending time with Jenny. Our Cesares in Trujillo to Chiclayo excellent driver and an expert guide and so happy they had the same name, made life easy! We became very familiar with the Huacas of the sun and the moon, Chan Chan and the Lady of Cao. Amazing history! Mitzi was our guide in Chiclayo, a walking encyclopaedia on the Lords of Sipan, and we will be forever in her debt for recommending that us old  girls hired horses to get to Gocta falls. Julio was our guide from Chiclayo to Chachapoyas and Senor Hegel was our driver, and what an amazing driver he was! Julio was a treasure trove of information and had an excellent sense of humour, our efforts in human exertion were always rewarded with sublime or addiction moments, chocolates he’d brought along to share when we reached Grocta or the Sarcophagi! In the Galapagos our guide was Karla, she was a powerhouse of enthusiasm. She shared her love of the islands, each unique and she inspired us to want to do and experience everything we could in such a short time. Miriam was our next amazing guide and Fernando was our driver. Ecuador was a surprise not sure what we expected but it surpassed anything we could have hoped for. The metropolis of Quito to the pristine beauty of Cotopaxi! It’s so good to see a country through the eyes of people that know it and love it! Our final guide was Christian who met us in Cuenca, what a fabulous, beautiful city and with Christian’s knowledge we learned so much about this cosmopolitan city that was once a rest place on the Inca highway from the coast to the highlands. On route to Guayaquil with did a walk through Cajas national park and experienced the beauty of the high altitude lakes area. Fabulous!

So thank you Ed and thank you Nick for all your efforts in organising what was another unforgettable  and once in a lifetime trip!

We loved the whole experience! Our guides were wonderful: prompt, friendly, informative with very good English, particularly Nanh in Hoi A and Hue, Quoc in HCMC and Vaanak in Siem Riep. We particularly loved the garden house in Hue; wandering through the Hmong village near Mai Chau; the cooking class with Chef Ay and the lunch with the veteran in Hanoi, and the whole experience in Siem Riep and the Kulen mountains. (We haven’t received  Ay’s recipes yet however!).

Just got home , what a fantastic holiday . All the hotels chosen  were top notch . We also enjoyed all the restaurants you recommended. Our guides and drivers were all fantastic and we had an amazing time . We were lucky with the weather in Peru we actually had mostly fine weather and didn’t miss out on anything . We particularly enjoyed the accommodation in sacred valley . The staff at that resort were outstanding. The hotel in Cartagena was beautiful. The only downfall was due to latam / qantas on flight home. We landed in Sydney airport with limited time to catch our domestic flight home to Brisbane . We had to pass immigration and customs and collect our bags . The airport was a absolute madhouse. When we reached the qantas transfer desk they told us that latam had not arranged for us to be on next available flight to Brisbane . So we had to go to the latam desk in the departures hall and discus with them. on our arrival at the desk there was a 2 hour wait to speak to anyone as there was over 30 passengers with the same issue. We didn’t get home till 5 hours after our allocated original time. All in all , fantastic trip and we know it is nothing to do with oasis that this happened. Thanks again we truly had a great time over there and loved all the hotels etc .

Thanks for the note and apologies we haven’t been in contact sooner. We had an amazing time. The tour was great and the main tour leader was fantastic – very knowledgeable and down to earth guy. We had a couple of tour leaders during the eclipse tour and they were both great. I can’t take credit for the eclipse shot, it was taken by a guy who came along with all the required equipment. The location we saw it from was isolated but therefore not crowded and overlooked the Andes – incredible! Also included a photo of the tour (we’re 2nd and 3rd from the right – I’m the short one), a tourist shot from Igassu and Valparaiso. Tim and I can’t thank you enough for the holiday we had.

We’re back in sunny Adelaide, safe and sound, even though we didn’t get home exactly as planned (thanks, Qantas). This is another big, big thank you to you from the two of us. Your itinerary was spot on, and your insights into the idiosyncrasies of South American airlines were right on the money! The only thing we would change (perhaps) is the accommodation in Mendoza… the management, staff and location of Cavas Wine Lodge were superb (big thanks to Bernie, our driver and guide), but the villas themselves suffered from an absence of ceiling fans and window screens… which meant we missed out on the beautiful nighttime breezes from the Andes, and had to listen to a noisy A/C. If we were to return to Mendoza, we would probably look at staying at The Vines Resort instead. But seriously, this is the only accommodation we would change: Algodon Mansion, Hotel Puerto Valle and Hub Portena were all completely fabulous. Scenic Eclipse surpassed all our expectations: fabulous suite, fabulous restaurants, and fabulous expedition (‘Discovery’) team members.

We had a great trip thank you very much and all went very well. We loved the hotel in Hanoi and really enjoyed the resort in Tam Coc – but it was all very good.

We also went on a street food tour organised by the hotel in Hanoi and that was also good. The lecture by the restoration architect in Hoi An was very interesting.

In HCMC we also treated ourselves to Luke Nyugen restaurant Vietnam House.

Thank you for organising the trip – it was great.
