Jebel Jais is the highest peak in the UAE. At 1934 metres this mountain is occasionally dusted with snow. The switchback road snakes dramatically up the mountainside delivering us vistas of barren, eroded cliffs, deep canyons and warped escarpments around every bend.
There are several pullouts for photograph stops along the way, but the ultimate panoramic mountain views, are found at Viewing Deck Park, nearer to the summit. For an up-close-and-personal mountain experience, Jebel Jais has a zip line and a via Ferrata, a mountain route equipped with ladders, steel cables and other fixed anchors, wooden walkways and suspended bridges.
