The Jayavarman

Vietnam - River Journeys – Vietnam

The stylish Jayavarman is 190-foot long and has just twenty-six spacious cabins, including two large state rooms. The sophisticated design is a blend of French Colonial meets Indochine-inspired splendour. The name ā€œJayavarmanā€ hails from the revered, wise and caring Buddhist King of the Khmer Empire in the 9th century.

Each cabin features hand-painted walls, carved bed head boards, beautiful fabrics, French balconies and sliding glass doors to take full advantage of the varied views along the river. There are Superior Cabins on located on the main deck and Deluxe Cabins on the upper deck. There are also 2 uber luxurious Suites for that extra special self indulgent treat.

However, it is the sense of onboard space that is the real attraction ā€“ as all too often on cruise boats this can be a real problem. There are four decks with abundant comfortable sitting areas, including a sun deck with a retractable roof (to accommodate passage beneath low bridges), three restaurants and even a small spa.

To give guests a sense of place before arrival at ports such as Phnom Penh, Kampong Cham and Siem Reap in Cambodia and Chau Doc and Saigon in Vietnam there are guides that travel along with the cruise that give optional informative and entertaining lectures on the culture and history of the destinations.

There are a selection of different cruises to choose betweenā€¦..
