Deeper in to the Delta you will find the egret sanctuary of Thot Not and the captivating town, on the Cambodian border, of Chau Doc. Here you can explore the floating villages and the many temples on Sam Mountain. Chau Doc is a long drive but well rewarded as it is away from the tourist hordes and offers a great overview of life in this fascinating part of the world, quintessential Vietnam. It is also possible to travel by boat to the Cambodian capitol of Phnom Penh from here.
